Share your location without being watched in secret
glancy is a location app where you can read back who looked at your location. You decide who you share with, how precisely and for how long.
Why glancy exists
Most location apps are one-sided: one person shares, the other checks in, and the first never finds out. That can feel harmless and still create pressure, in families, in relationships and among friends.
glancy turns that around. Whoever looks at your location is visible to you. Location sharing should be mutual and traceable, not secret.
What matters to us
- Both sides agree. A connection only exists once both sides accept. And being connected does not mean any location is shared.
- You see who looks. By default you get a push notification when someone views your location, and you can set that per connection. Every access is in the log, including the ones you missed.
- You decide how much. Share exactly or approximately, for a limited time or on a schedule, and pause everything with one tap.
- Safety costs nothing. Access notifications, precision control and pausing are free for everyone, with no time limit.
How glancy is built against abuse is covered on the security page.
How we make money
glancy is free to use. glancy+ is an optional subscription that extends limits: a longer log (90 days instead of 3 days), more groups and favourites, schedules and your own nicknames for your connections. You can see the price in the App Store and on Google Play.
We do not sell location data, neither to advertisers nor to data brokers, and there are no ads in the app. glancy is funded by the people who use glancy+.

Where does the name glancy come from?
glancy comes from the English word “glance”: taking a quick look at something. The name describes a brief look at a trusted person’s location. That person decides whether, when and how precisely the look is possible.
The FAQ and app guides explain how to get started, including connections, avatars, favourites and groups.
