# How to stop sharing your location

Direct steps for the most common apps, plus what changes (and what does not) once you turn sharing off.

In most apps: open the app, find the specific person or circle, and choose Stop Sharing. In glancy, you can pause sharing with everyone at once without deleting any connection, or end sharing with one person entirely - either way, nothing is shared going forward.

The exact steps differ slightly by app, but the underlying action is the same: revoke access for one person, or turn sharing off entirely.

## In glancy

Pause sharing with everyone at once, without deleting anything (individual people or groups cannot be paused separately; for one person, end sharing) - see [pause sharing](/en/features/pause-sharing). You can resume later exactly where you left off, since connections and history stay intact while paused.

## In Find My

Tap **People** → the person's name → **Stop Sharing My Location**. To stop sharing with everyone, go to **Me** → turn off **Share My Location**.

## In Google Maps

Tap your profile icon → **Location Sharing** → select the person → **Stop**.

## In Life360

Open **Settings** → **Location Sharing** and toggle it off, either globally or for a specific circle member.

## What doesn't change

Stopping a share usually doesn't notify the other person in most of these apps - they simply stop seeing updates. glancy is the exception: pausing or ending a connection is visible to both sides, consistent with how [access notifications](/en/features/access-notifications) work throughout.
