You know when someone checks your location
Choose whether to be notified when someone opens your location. Repeat views within a short cooldown are grouped together.
Who viewed your location?
- Anna Viewing right now
- Dad 22:47
- Marie 19:05
- Jan Yesterday
glancy can alert you when someone opens your location. Access notifications are on by default, and you choose whether to keep them on for each grant. Repeat views by the same person within your notification cooldown produce one alert.
Why this matters
Location sharing only feels safe when it is not one-sided. If you have shared your location with a partner, a friend, or a family member, you deserve to know when that access is actually used, not just that it is theoretically possible.
How it works
- With access notifications enabled, opening your live location triggers an alert. Repeat views within the adjustable cooldown are grouped together (5 minutes by default).
- It works across iOS and Android, regardless of which platform the viewer uses.
- Notifications respect your OS-level settings, so you stay in control of how and when you are interrupted.
The access log shows recorded accesses within the retention period.

Frequently asked questions
Can someone turn off my access notifications without me knowing?
No. Notifications are tied to your account settings, not to the person viewing your location. Only you control whether you are notified.
Does this work in the background, even if I do not open the app?
Yes. If notifications are enabled for the grant and allowed on your device, glancy can alert you while the app is closed. Repeat views within the cooldown do not send another push.
