Privacy is not a setting, it is the default
You decide who may see your location. Access is logged for you; you can control notifications in your device settings.
What we collect
For your account, we process sign-in data and the nickname you choose. If you enable location sharing, we store the latest location sent and when it was captured, your shares and connections, and a log of who viewed your location and when. We also process device and technical data to run the app and push tokens when notifications are enabled. Our Privacy Policy has the details.
Encrypted storage
We store latitude, longitude, horizontal accuracy, altitude, speed and heading together in an AES-256-GCM encrypted payload. Our server decrypts it only after authenticating the account owner or checking the requesting person’s sharing permission. This is encryption at rest, not end-to-end encryption. The account association and capture time remain stored separately as metadata.
How long we keep it
We do not store a location history, only the latest location sent. We delete it if it has not been updated for 30 days. Activity entries and location access logs are kept for 3 days with Free and 90 days with glancy+. When Plus access ends, entries older than 3 days are hidden immediately and deleted after 7 days. They remain if you regain Plus access within that period.
If you delete your account, we remove its associated data unless a legal retention duty applies. Data created by other people may remain in their accounts. See Delete your account and data for more.
How we make money
glancy remains free to use without a time limit. Optional glancy+ subscriptions fund the operation and development of the app. Plus extends the access log to 90 days and offers higher limits for groups and favourites as well as additional features. With glancy+ family, one subscription can provide Plus access to up to six glancy accounts. The current features are listed on our pricing page.
We do not sell location data or fund the app through ads or the sale of personal usage data. Apple App Store or Google Play handles subscription purchases and billing; you see the price for your country there before subscribing.
